Microsoft 365 bug

An encoding issue is currently affecting symbols in Microsoft 365 Classic outlook. This fix is due to be resolved in early March however, if you are experiencing problems in the interim, we can help.

Microsoft recently acknowledged a widespread issue affecting Microsoft 365 Classic Outlook. A bug in the latest update is causing character encoding errors, specifically affecting symbols like the pound sign (£), registered trademark (®), and other extended characters. Instead of appearing correctly, these symbols are being replaced by question marks (?) for both senders and recipients. Microsoft is actively investigating the cause and expects permanent resolution to be rolled out in early March 2026.

If this affecting your business, our team can implement a temporary work around to restore your symbols while we wait for the official fix. Current customers can get in touch with us on 01449 798088 or by emailing hello@anyit.com
