From 1st July 2026, Microsoft is updating its pricing across all commercial Microsoft 365 plans. Before you react to the cost increase, it's worth understanding what's actually being added — and whether your business is set up to benefit.
Microsoft 365 is about to get more expensive. That's the headline — but it's only half the story. Alongside the pricing update landing on 1st July, Microsoft is rolling out its biggest wave of new features in years, including expanded AI through Copilot, stronger built-in security, and improved device management tools that were previously only available as costly add-ons.
For businesses already on Microsoft 365, this isn't just a bill increase — it's an opportunity. The question is whether you'll get value from what's coming, or whether the new tools will sit unused while you absorb the extra cost.
Copilot — Microsoft's AI assistant — is becoming significantly more capable and more deeply embedded across the apps your team already uses. Expect smarter email assistance in Outlook, meeting summaries in Teams, and AI-driven help inside Word and Excel. New "Agent Mode" features mean Copilot will be able to carry out multi-step tasks on your behalf, not just answer questions.
On the security and IT side, tools that previously required extra licences — including Intune Remote Help and Advanced Analytics — are being folded into core plans. This means IT teams get better visibility, faster remote troubleshooting, and proactive device health monitoring without needing separate subscriptions.
With a price change on the horizon, now is the right time to take stock. Are you on the correct licence tier for your team's needs? Are there tools already included in your plan that you're not using — or tools you're paying for separately that are about to be bundled in?
A quick licence review before the end of June could save you money, uncover features worth adopting, or simply give you confidence that what you're paying for is working hard for your business.
We're offering a free Microsoft 365 licence review ahead of the July changes.
